Supplies

The supplies you need are:
-wire 0.4mm 0.6mm 0.8mm 1mm diameter

- beads, in different shapes and sizes

You can start using glass beads and silver plated wire that are cheap.
When you feel more confident start using more expensive beads like gemstones or swarovski crystal. In addition you can use sterling silver (925) wire for best results.

Also you will need earring wires, clasps, spacers, chain, leather... and the list is endless.
If you go to a shop that sells beads and findings you'll be amazed by the variety.

thanks for all of the effort you have put into sharing your new ideas and techniques. I have just stared making jewelry as well and I am only familiar with 20 gauge, 22, 24 etc. I am not sure what I am looking for when you list 6mm, 4mm wire as materials needede. Do you know what the conversion or how theyt eqate?
Thanks again for the inspiring ideas. my eamil is anne@swva.net if you get a chance to respond.

We use a different metric system to define the wire diameter. We use milimetres (metre) whill so use gauge.
So here are the conversions:
0.4 mm ---> 26 gauge
0.6 mm ---> 22 gauge
0.8 mm ---> 20 gauge
1mm ---> 18 gauge
